Sally (Ret.)

Sally is a 1962 Ford fire truck. She came to us from the small town of Troy NC. In 1962 she was purchased by the town, and served her entire firefighting career there. When she was replaced by more modern equipment, she was parked behind the firehouse where she sat for several years. The decision was made to sell her. We learned about the truck from Facebook, and began negotiating. We came to terms, hired a transportation company and brought her home. She arrived in May 2014, and Bethlehem Area VoTech School cleaned her up and repainted her a beautiful shade of pink. SALLY is named for a Bethlehem Township resident, Sally Steirer, that had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, ocular melanoma. Sadly, SALLY suffered a catastrophic engine problem and was decommissioned in April 2024.

Diane

Diane_Sized

DIANE comes to us from Tri-Cities IL Chapter, near Chicago. She is a 1995 Pierce fire engine, originally built for the Romeoville, IL fire department. In addition to serving the residents of Romeoville, she served as a training fire engine at the Winnebago County (IL) fire training center. When another fire engine developed mechanical problems with the pump, DIANE was used to provide the parts necessary to repair the other fire engine. Shortly after, she was donated to Pink Heals Tri-Cities Chapter, and turned into a beautiful pink tribute to cancer patients. The Lehigh Valley arrival video taken in December 2023 had more than 100,000 views on Facebook!

Mae

MAE

MAE came to us from Suburban EMS of Palmer Township. She is the only one of our vehicles that began her community service in the Lehigh Valley. She was built in 2000, and served until her retirement in 2015. We are thankful to BAVTS for their Auto Body Finishing department, and the faculty and students that worked on her transformation. Today, MAE carries our merchandising items and supplies in addition to being a rolling ambassador. She was named for one of our Charter Members, Mae Trexler. Mae and her daughter Linda were among the early supporters of our organization and we will always be grateful for the love and support which they showed us.

MOM

MOM

MOM is a 2003 Kawasaki 1600 motorcycle, with training wheels. MOM was acquired from the Pink Heals Tri-Cities Chapter of Illinois in late 2023. The addition of the motorcycle has lead to more community involvement, especially the motorcycle community. This has lead to a few more appearances for us including motorcycle runs and vehicle shows.

DEB

Deb

Deb is a 2007 Ford Expedition. She started service as a K9 officer’s patrol vehicle. Upon her end of duty, she was acquired by Dave Graybill, founder of Pink Heals. He gave her a pretty pink vinyl wrap and began touring the country. This vehicle actually visited the Lehigh Valley on several occasions during this time. Longview Texas gave her a home until recently when she was no longer needed in east Texas. She was offered up to other Chapters, and we jumped at the opportunity to add to our fleet. We drove her back from Texas, cleaned her up and gave her a beautiful, new vinyl wrap. She was named for one of our members, Deb Siegfried.
